Sandi Blood McKay

As a native of northern Virginia, Sandi McKay severed in the United States Coast Guard for 14 years. She graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and received her commission in November 2003. Her operational assignments include multiple cutters where she served as a Deck Watch Officer and Operations Officer.  She was also assigned one of the most unique positions in the U.S. Coast Guard at the International Training Division partnering with U.S. embassies to deploy teams aiding developing countries in the development of their maritime services.  She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Rutgers-Camden in December 2017. She has been a registered nurse on an intensive care, obstetrics/gynecological post-operative, and oncology units. She joined the team lead by Dr. Emmons for the Veterans Serving Veterans Fellowship Program as the Program Coordinator in September 2019.
