Charles P. Tilley

Dr. Tilley is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE®) with over 15 years of simulation experience, first as a Simulationist, then as Assistant Director for Graduate Simulation at New York University (NYU) and currently as the Director of the IPEI-Program at Rutgers-Camden SON. Dr. Tilley’s experiences with simulation science have ranged widely, including facilitation of both undergraduate and graduate simulations and serving as a mentor to new Simulationists.

Dr. Tilley has developed dozens of undergraduate and graduate simulation experiences and led a content validation process for a midwifery perinatal loss simulation curricular quality improvement project. He has led simulation curricular needs assessments at both universities, cross-walked the AACN Essentials with simulation curricula, developed simulation policies and procedures, developed simulation faculty orientation, and participated in simulation long-range planning. Dr. Tilley is currently the Chair of the Simulation and Technology Task Force at Rutgers-Camden SON.

Dr. Tilley has published on multiple topics and is currently the Principal Investigator on a qualitative study at NYU, New Graduate Midwives Perceived Competence after a Simulated Perinatal Palliative Care Experience: A Phenomenological Study, funded by The Hugoton Foundation. He is currently the President of the New York Capital Region Simulation Consortium and has presented at multiple local and national conferences on various simulation topics.
