Nursing Professor Receives Prominent Research Award

Patricia D. Suplee, Ph.D., R.N.C.-O.B.

Patricia D. Suplee, an associate professor at the Rutgers School of Nursing–Camden, is the recipient of the 2017 Suzanne Feetham Nurse Scientist Family Research Award from the Eastern Nursing Research Society.

A resident of Medford, Suplee received the annual award in honor of her distinguished career in clinical practice, scholarship, and teaching focused on women during the childbearing period. The Eastern Nursing Research Society presents the award in recognition of outstanding contributions by a senior nurse scientist who has a well-established program of family research and scholarship.

An expert on matters related to maternal health, women’s health, and nursing education, Suplee is the recipient of the 2014 March of Dimes Margaret Comerford Freda “Saving Babies, Together” Grant Award from the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses. The award is presented annually to a researcher whose work reflects the common commitment of the March of Dimes and AWHONN to promote health among women and newborns.
