Continuing Education for Rutgers School of Nursing–Camden Alumni
Infusion therapy is the most invasive procedure performed by nurses and an area of high litigation. The Rutgers School of Nursing–Camden is pleased to offer our nursing alumni and friends a free, continuing education course on the Care and Maintenance of Central Venous Access Devices (CVADs) on Saturday, January 12, 2019.

Keynote Speaker: Davina Soernssen, RN, MSN, CHSE, offers many years of clinical and legal nurse expertise in the area of infusion therapy and vascular access.
Featured Speaker: Carol Connors-McCall RN, VA-BC, holds extensive experience in vascular access and is board-certified.
This 3.5 contact hour certificate, approved by the New Jersey State Nurses Association (NJSNA), will be awarded to participants who sign-in, complete and return the evaluation forms, and who successfully meet the following learning objectives:
- Successful access of a port-a-cath device using aseptic technique.
- Successful completion a simulated clinical experience according to the correct treatment outline in order to recognize early complications related to the care and maintenance of a central venous access device (CVAD) in the oncology patient.
- Completion and return of follow-up survey in three months.
