Nursing Student Organizations
Rutgers School of Nursing–Camden students have a solid reputation for 'having fun while doing good' through involvement with local, national, and international nursing organizations. Our students are fully immersed in engaged civic learning – connecting campus resources with the needs of vulnerable people in local neighborhoods and around the world. They are change agents and champions of community health, all while they build vital peer networks and develop the professional skills critical to their success in the workplace.
Rutgers-Camden Student Nurses’ Association
Rutgers–Camden Student Nurses' Association (SNA) is our local, student-run organization that works to encourage students to expand their roles as nurse leaders and patient advocates by working to make a positive impact on the City of Camden and improve the well-being of its citizens. Our Student Nurses' Association motivates students to build professional skills and establish a network of peers — they meet monthly to support and mentor classmates, and to promote health equity for the people of Camden and beyond by forging partnerships with soup kitchens, places of worship, and community groups. The SNA also conducts health assessments, provides health education and screenings at health fairs across campus, local schools, and surrounding neighborhoods.
Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI), Eta Mu Chapter
The Eta Mu Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, has over 135,000 active members who reside in more than 100 countries and 540 chapters at more than 700 institutions of higher education. Affiliated with the Rutgers School of Nursing—Camden, the Eta Mu chapter was chartered in 1984.
Sigma supports members through its numerous professional development products and services that focus on the core areas of education, leadership, career development, evidence-based nursing research, and scholarship. These products and services advance the learning and professional development of members and all nurses who strive to improve the health of the world’s people.

Office of Student Involvement
