Michelle Blackmon

Michelle currently works in the Office of Budget & Finance for the Camden Campus. Before joining the Budget & Finance team, she was the Business Manager for Faculty Arts & Sciences-Camden. She worked closely with the Dean, Associate Deans, and Director of Operations. She was responsible for the management, organization, direction, and administration of the daily activities of the finance team and overall budget and finance functions of Faculty Arts & Sciences. As the Business Manager, Michelle was also responsible for improving the financial business processes and practices and managed a team of 3 Business Specialists.

Prior to joining Faculty Arts & Sciences, Michelle was the Budget Manager for the School of Business-Camden, where she first started my journey in Higher Education in 2017, under the direction of the previous Dean, Jaishankar Ganesh as well as the current Dean, Monica Adya.

Previous to her work at the School of Business-Camden, she worked in the corporate environment for American Water for 20 years. 

Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from WVU Institute of Technology.She also received Lean Six Sigma Certification in Process Excellence Methodology.
