Cohort of Nursing Students Visit the Philippines over the 2025-2026 winter break.
Rutgers Philippines Learning Abroad Trip
Over the 2025-2026 winter break, a cohort of Rutgers University nursing students visited the Philippines. The program was organized by Dr. Jamille Nagtalon-Ramos. During the trip, the students visited sites such as the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) in Manila. This hospital serves more than 600,000 patients every year. Students had the opportunity to meet with nurses and staff at PGH and get hands on experience. Rutgers nursing students also had the opportunity to visit the University of the Philippines College of Nursing and meet with faculty members. This trip was a rewarding experience for everyone involved. Many thanks to Dr. Nagtalon-Ramos who oversaw the trip from start to finish. Whether traveling to countries such as Guatemala, South Africa, or the Philippines, Rutgers students continue to learn about public health and make valuable connections outside the classroom.
