Biography

Dr. Jeanann Coppola's interests span women’s healthcare, peer mentoring, global health nursing, and human trafficking.  Dr. Coppola is a Board-Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) and Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) with experience teaching across academic programs using a variety of traditional and digital instructional formats. She uses versatile teaching strategies including multimodal and digital platforms to engage students and promote critical thinking. She has presented on a wide variety of digital platforms, including ShadowHealth and ExamSoft.

Dr. Coppola is keenly interested in global health nursing and leads allied health students on a three-week immersion and civic engagement trip to Bolivia, one of the most poverty-stricken countries in the Western Hemisphere. This seminar and course introduces students to this developing country with the aim of helping them to gain a deeper understanding of health and healing across multidisciplinary sectors.

Dr. Coppola focuses on collaborative research articles on women’s health topics published in peer-reviewed journals.  She has a long-standing interest in mentorship — her DNP Capstone study was based on , which she presented at the University of New Mexico Mentoring Institute, 9 Annual Mentoring Conference in October of 2016.
