Biography

Dr. Catherine A. Stubin, PhD, RN, CNE, CCRN, is a distinguished nurse scholar and seasoned undergraduate educator with more than 20 years of academic experience and over four decades of leadership in nursing practice and education. She holds national certifications as a Certified Nurse Educator and Critical Care Registered Nurse. Dr. Stubin is nationally and internationally recognized for her expertise in the mental health and wellness of nurses and nursing students, with a robust and sustained program of research focused on self-care, resilience, emotional strain, burnout, and suicidal ideation within these populations. As a PhD-prepared researcher, she has led and contributed to rigorous qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods investigations supported by competitive internal and external funding, including awards from the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, National League for Nursing, Eastern Nursing Research Society, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. A Jonas Nurse Scholar, Dr. Stubin has achieved broad dissemination of her work through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international conferences, contributing to the advancement of evidence-based strategies to support mental health and well-being in the student body and nursing workforce.
