Biography

Dr. Beckmann has been instrumental in the development and implementation of DNP programs at Rutgers University College of Nursing-Newark and the School of Nursing-Camden, Rutgers University. She has taught a number of courses in the DNP program both in Newark and Camden and she has either chaired or served as a committee member on over 20 DNP capstone projects. She is a women’s health nurse practitioner and a certified nurse midwife and has directed the WHNP program in the College of Nursing Rutgers University. She has over 40 years experience in both nursing education, nursing practice, and nursing research. She has served as a mentor for DNP students of over 10 years. Her research interests include improving perinatal outcomes and the impact of bullying on patient care outcomes.
