Rutgers–Camden Nursing Student-Veteran to Be Honored

On Tuesday, September 12, we invite you to join New Jersey State Senator James Beach who will present nursing student and veteran Laura Tolver with a proclamation honoring her selection as a Tillman Scholar. The event will start at 11:00 a.m. and will be held in the main lounge of the Camden Campus Center. An Edgewater Park resident, Laura was named a Tillman Scholar earlier this year by the Pat Tillman Foundation. A student in the doctor of nursing practice (DNP) program at Rutgers School of Nursing–Camden, she is one of only five nursing students, and only 61 students overall, to earn this highly competitive national scholarship.

Founded in 2008, the Tillman Scholars program supports active-duty service members, veterans, and military spouses through scholarship support covering direct study-related expenses, including tuition and fees, books, and living expenses. Recipients are pursuing undergraduate, graduate, or professional degrees at a U.S.-based accredited institution.
