RN to BSN

This program is for those who are already REGISTERED NURSES and who are seeking the Bachelors of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN). The RN to BSN program has been designed to build upon the existing foundation of nursing knowledge and clinical experience possessed by registered nurses.

The program:

*Consists of prerequisite, electives and nursing courses leading to a Baccalaureate Degree in nursing (BSN)

* Is designed to be completed in one year if all of the prerequisite courses have been completed prior to enrollment. However you are not required to have completed the prerequisites prior to enrollment in the program. Most students complete the program as part time students.

*Is offered on the Camden campus of Rutgers University and on the Atlantic Cape Community College campus.

*Some nursing courses are offered in the online or hybrid format. Most prerequisite and elective courses require classroom attendance.

Admissions

*Are rolling. You must have graduated from an accredited nursing program and taken and passed the NCLEX exam prior to application. You must have a New Jersey registered nurse license to apply to the RN to BSN program.

* If you are a Registered Nurse who graduated with an Associate Degree or diploma in nursing, you may transfer up to 64 prerequisite and elective credits into the RN to BSN program. Graduates of four-year colleges may transfer in 90 prerequisite and elective credits. Transcripts are evaluated upon acceptance to determine which courses may be accepted as transfer credit

* In addition to prerequisite and elective transfer credits accepted, students are given 23 transfer credits for previous nursing courses completed.

* You must apply for general admission to Rutgers University Camden College of Arts and Sciences in addition to completing the application for the RN to BSN program.

* You must complete your final 30 credits in residence at Rutgers.

Admissions Information

You must submit the University application as well as a separate nursing application to be considered for the RN to BSN program.
