The BSN program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate
Nursing Education (CCNE) and approved by the New Jersey State
Board of Nursing (NJSBN). Two tracks to the BSN degree are currently offered at Rutgers-Camden: a new 4-year pre-licensure
track; and a post-licensure track for registered nurses (RNs).
4-Year
Pre-Licensure Track: The 4-year track is designed for students who will enroll as
freshmen and complete all degree requirements at Rutgers-Camden.
Nursing courses start in the first year, with science, arts,
and humanities courses integrated throughout the curriculum.
The inaugural class of the 4-year pre-licensure track enrolled in Fall 2010.
We plan to admit 50 students annually for two years and then increase to 75 students
annually so that by 2015-16, there will be 300 students in the 4-year
track.

RN
to BS Track: The RN
to BS advanced placement track is designed for students
who already hold a registered nurse (RN) license. The
curriculum builds on the existing foundation of nursing
knowledge and clinical experience possessed by RNs. The
RN student is admitted with an associate's degree or
a hospital school diploma and awarded 33 credits for
attainment of the RN license and up to 60 credits for
transfer courses. A minimum of 30 credits must be taken
at Rutgers. The required RN to BS courses can be completed
full-time in one calendar year, although most RN students
are employed and attend university part-time. The RN
to BS track is currently offered at two locations: Rutgers-Camden, Atlantic
Cape Community College and Camden County College Blackwood.
