CAMDEN CAMPUS HONORS CONVOCATION: This ceremony will be held at the SUSQUEHANNA BANK CENTER, Wednesday, May 21, 2014, 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. This is a campus wide ceremony recognizing honors earned by students and faculty as well as highlighting the campus’s first honorary degree recipient, Dr. Jeffrey Brenner. This event will be open for all graduates to attend, but only Honors students will be highlighted. Specific invitations will be issued to those Honors students.
SNC CLINICAL AWARDS CEREMONY/PINNING CEREMONY: This ceremony will be held in the Multipurpose Room of the Campus Center on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. This event will honor the accomplishments of students, faculty, alumni, and the Dean’s Champion Award recipient. A reception preceding the event will be held in the Lounge of the Campus Center from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. to honor the SNC graduates of 2014. All graduates, their family, and friends are invited to attend. The PINNING CEREMONY will be part of this event. Business attire, please.
SNC COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY: The ceremony will be held at the GORDON THEATER on THURSDAY, MAY 22nd. For directions to the campus, please visit http://www.camden.rutgers.edu/page/getting-campus . The ceremony will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. and continue until approximately 11:15 a.m. All graduates are expected to remain until the end of the ceremony. Immediately after the ceremony, diplomas will be distributed in the Lounge of the Campus Center.
Our Commencement speaker will be Dr. Robert Hess, RN, PhD, FAAN, Executive Vice President, Global Programming with Gannett Education, along with student speakers and a member of the Rutgers Alumni Association.
Students who have successfully completed all graduation requirements may participate in the commencement ceremony. RN BS students with ONLY 3 outstanding credits may also participate.
GUESTS: The Gordon Theater seats approximately 600 people. Family and friends are welcome; tickets are not issued. Guests enter through the lobby and will be seated beginning at 9:15 a.m.
PARKING: Free parking is available in the lots around the campus.
ATTIRE: The expected dress is the cap, gown and hood; the BS hood is apricot for nursing. Regalia may be purchased at the University District Bookstore before the day of commencement. The regalia for bachelor’s degree candidates is $77.25. Please note that the regalia is yours to keep. The bookstore is open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please note the tassel of the cap is worn on the right by the undergraduates. Rutgers-Camden Off Campus Programs: Rutgers University-Camden has made arrangements with the Barnes and Noble University District Bookstore to allow students in Rutgers-Camden Off Campus Programs (Mays Landing RN BS students) to purchase their 2014 Commencement regalia by phone and have the regalia shipped to them free of charge. To order your regalia please call the University District Bookstore at 856-968-1200 during regular business hours. Ask to speak to a store manager.

The deadline to have complimentary regalia shipping is Wednesday, May 14 (After this date, students must come to the University District Bookstore in Camden to purchase regalia.)
HONORS GRADUATES (undergraduates only) may wear red cords with their regalia. These cords will be available for purchase (the cost is $20.00; you may pay with cash or credit card) prior to commencement line-up. You must present picture ID (Rutgers ID card, drivers’ license, etc.). The requirements for Honors are 45 credits at Rutgers University and a GPA of 3.5 or above. Honors College graduates may also wear gold stoles, which they may pick up at the Honors College office.

PHOTOGRAPHS: A professional photographer will take your picture as you receive your degree and also when you leave the stage. Life Touch (800-334-1531 x 2121) will contact you directly a few weeks after Commencement. Your guests are welcome to take photographs in the side aisle of the Theater. Please instruct them to leave this area immediately after taking photographs to provide room for others.
SPECIAL NEEDS GRADUATES AND GUESTS: Reserved seating in an easily accessible area is available for guests with special needs. Should you wish to request special seating or to request a wheelchair for transport to and from general seating, visit http://www.camden.rutgers.edu/page/special-accommodations and complete the electronic registration at the bottom of the page. Requests should be received by May 16. There will be closed caption coverage of the ceremony. Screens with closed captioning coverage will be viewable from any seat in the Theater.
